How does moving tote rental work?
Pick a package based on your home size, and we deliver clean, reusable 27-gallon totes to your door anywhere in the Hickory and Catawba Valley area. You pack, move, and unpack over a two-week rental period, then we pick the empty totes up from your new home. No boxes to find, build, or break down.
How much does it cost?
Packages start at $99 for 20 totes, perfect for a studio or one-bedroom, and go up to $199 for 80 totes for larger homes. Every package includes delivery, pickup, and a two-week rental. See our Packages and Pricing page for full details.
How big are the totes?
Each tote holds 27 gallons and measures 30.6″ wide by 20.6″ deep by 14.3″ tall on the outside, roughly the size of a large moving box but far stronger. They’re molded from heavy-duty polypropylene with a reinforced snap-fit lid, they hold up to 100 lbs each when the weight is spread evenly, and the recessed lids let them stack four high without crushing. Molded handles make them easy to carry, and each empty tote weighs under seven pounds.
Can I secure the totes during my move?
Yes. Every lid has molded-in holes that fit a zip tie or a small padlock, so you can seal totes holding valuables, paperwork, or anything you’d rather not have opening in transit. The lids also have tie-down channels, which makes strapping them into a truck or trailer much easier than wrestling with cardboard.
Are the totes clean?
Yes. Every tote is cleaned and sanitized between rentals, so your belongings never touch someone else’s move.
What if I need the totes longer than two weeks?
No problem. Extra weeks are $40 for the Studio/1 Bedroom and 2 Bedroom packages, or $60 for the 3 Bedroom and 4+ Bedroom packages. Just let us know before your pickup date and we’ll take care of it.
Do you deliver to my town?
We serve the entire Catawba Valley: Catawba, Burke, Caldwell, and Alexander counties, including Hickory, Newton, Conover, Lenoir, Morganton, Granite Falls, and Taylorsville. Check the full list on our Service Areas page, and if you’re close but not listed, reach out anyway.
Why rent totes instead of buying cardboard boxes?
Renting is usually cheaper than buying boxes, and totes are stronger, water-resistant, tape-free, and stack better in the truck. There’s also nothing to dispose of afterward. We take everything back and reuse it, which keeps a pile of cardboard out of the landfill.
Can I rent totes for storage or decluttering instead of a move?
Absolutely. Totes are great for staging a home before listing it, decluttering, renovations, or seasonal storage. Contact us and we’ll set up a rental that fits.
